Thank you for posting it! :) And you are right, the magic cape that gives protection is much better than the red hood that gets someone into trouble. I have heard so many guys explain to me that Little Red is really about a girl getting her period... I'm sick and tired of it :D
Cheers for the blog tour! I just posted my tale.

@TarkabarkaHolgy from
Multicolored Diary
MopDogA Tarkabarka Hölgyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06719668142192116685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968132365438511409.post-48972337063359936522015-04-23T08:49:19.184-05:002015-04-23T08:49:19.184-05:00Oooh I hadn't heard of this, but I'll be d...Oooh I hadn't heard of this, but I'll be digging out my copy of The Red Fairy Book and having a read! It does sound similar to me to the second ending of the Grimms' tale, and I agree that it is often sadly forgotten. It really changes the meaning of the story.

Interesting point about fashion, too. And colour - the cloak not being red removes a lot of the sexual connotations of the story. For me, gold is no less potent (as you say, it's linked to the sun and fire which are two very powerful things!) and gives the story a more magical, uplifting tone.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13311936206951108530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968132365438511409.post-72087647644716266372015-04-19T12:54:23.373-05:002015-04-19T12:54:23.373-05:00Yes-I don't actually have the Red Fairy Book, ...Yes-I don't actually have the Red Fairy Book, but the links above in the post or right here will take you to read it on Surlalune: http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/ridinghood/stories/golden.htmlKristinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01097525403940409218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968132365438511409.post-20774025128073280032015-04-18T18:10:19.157-05:002015-04-18T18:10:19.157-05:00It should be available on Project Gutenberg.
