Poisoned Apple Fall Party

For anyone throwing an Autumn or Halloween-themed party, or just enjoying the season with family and friends- if you want to throw a little fairy tale inspiration in, there are some great ideas for Snow White's poisoned apples!

Apple-shaped cupcakes (what a great DIY!)

Add some witchy decorations, gingerbread, and/or Cinderella-themed pumpkins, and you could easily throw a fairy tale-inspired Autumnal party! Or just add a little fairy tale flare within your home decor and treats :)

  1. Looks like fun! And apples are a traditional part of Halloween, anyway, I think bobbing fir them is quite an old custom.

I used Halloween and Day of the the Dead last year for a history lesson, as I had to teach about the Spanish and the Aztecs. The Aztecs had a whole festival of the dead, for about two weeks. When the Spanish converted some, they said, "Look, you can have the festival, we have something like it, but can you pease make it two days?"

The kids enjoyed that lesson. One of them, a Malaysian boy, told us that they have their own Day of the Dead thing bs k home, when the moths arrive in the house, though it tends to be in August. That's when they go and clean the family graves. I gave the all chocolate frogs and wished them a good weekend.

    1. I really don't know much at all about Day of the Dead celebrations, but the concept really fascinates me! I've never really thought about it in connection with Halloween before, from my understanding they grew out of completely different traditions, since Halloween was about guarding against spirits in general and not remembering our loved ones who have passed on. But there are certainly similarities! And while Day of the Dead celebrations seem so strange to Americans, it's actually kind of nice that many cultures set aside a time to remember and honor relatives; I've heard that American's avoidance of such things actually contributes to our fear of death, whereas death is seen as more natural in other cultures.

  2. Hi Kristin,

  3. I so enjoyed your seasonal setting! I love the 'poison' pot. x

  4. Well dear this is my first time that I have seen a poisoned apple fall party. This theme is looking so amazing and unique too. I was planning my anniversary party at San Francisco venues and now I have a unique idea. I am going to use this idea in my party.
